new member with fuel pump question???
HI, A quick question for you if you please. My fuel gauge reads about 1/4 a tank off, I figured it was the sending unit in the tank the dealer told me it was.
My question is can I change just the sending unit on the fuel pump assembly or do I have to replace the whole thing,(fuel pump,sending unit,neck,etc.).I got a used one off a 93 vette(have not recieved it yet). I would like to just switch the sending unit. from reading other threads about fuel pumps I will also replace the fuel filter at the same time. Any help would be great!.

I know the fuel pump at least comes off, I just changed mine. I don't remember if the sender was removable from the filler tube assembly. It is not hard to remove. If your guage is working, just not showing correct, you may be able to bend the float rod to correct it. I'm sure others will answer soon.

The sending unit does not come off the assembly. You can salvage your pump to re-use but everything else goes.
The sender should put out 90ohms full, 45 half (at least it does for an 89) so you can test it out to make sure its the sender and not the gauge.
