Can anyone tell me what the round disc/ plate looking thing is called that is bolted straight to the waterpump on l98's? I wanted to try and search the archived threads. Anyway, Buddies vette has some weird vibration/rattling sound coming from that area.. I remember reading a post sometime ago about how this piece is often removed because it serves no real purpose.. any info would be appreciated!

Re: part name? (1MoorTym)
 It is OK to remove it! GM thought they might have a problem with AC clutch so they bought thousands of the Frisbees to smooth out the clutch action...but they proved unnecessary!
To hide from the "bean counters" they installed them anyway, since they bought 'em!
When you remove, add a few washers equal to the thickness of the Frisbee to keep the pulley lined up.
You will feel a difference, particularly when accelerating from 70+
When you say, "You will feel a difference when accelerating from 70+", is that a good difference as in increased hp or is it a bad difference as in vibration? :auto:
