:lurk: I'd also be interested in knowing if it dropped your engine temperature significantly under extreme conditions.

It shouldnt affect shift quality that much, only when a transmission has burnt fluid do people notice its shift quality decreasing.

It will probably double the lifetime of the automatic though, so its well worth the money.

Try B&M

Install Trick Shift fluid by B&M. It will noticeably improve your shift quality. I'm sure there are probably other brands of high performance fluid but I've used it for 30 years in GMs, Mopars and Fords with good results and no problems.

I installed a Hayden. I don't have a tranny temp gauge so I don't know exactly how much it dropped it from before. I was able to check the "Surface" temp at the lines after the install with a laser temp gun I borrowed from work. The surface temp was around 175* after I had drove for about 30 mins, this was back in August, so it was definately hot outside.

I had a B&M on my 84 (because it was free) and instaled a motor cycle fan on it, because of the limited airflow in the front bumper where I had it mounted, and the trany stayed at 160 down for the 190 it used to run at. There was no diference in shifting but the biggest killer of the 700R is heat so I am sure I would have prolonged the life of the trany if only I could have prolonged the life of the car.
