Basically I have a centerforce dual friction clutch that has started slipping on me. I have talked with centerforce and they want me to send it to them for their own inspection.
I was just wondering , cuz it says for 93-97 LT1 and I'm an 89.
But, my original engine blew and I replaced it with a 383. Not sure of the year of the block. I do have a single mass aluminum flywheel though.
What are my clutch options as another centerforce would cost me like $700 + USD.
Re: Would this clutch work for me? (black_89_vette)
Has nothing to do with the engine size. The original ZF's had a larger input shaft. I believe it covered up to and including '92. After that, they were about .032" smaller. The two are NOT compatible. There have been may horror stories going to aftermarket non proven setups. (I have my own to tell) Based on everything I've learned through the painful process, I wouldn't f&%$ around with anything but a Mcleod Street Twin setup. Bite the bullet and buy the whole enchilada...clutch, pressure plate, T-O bearing and flywheel. That way you don't get into a "stacking height" problem. It can be nightmarish. There are many so-called experts selling clutches and related parts. Many are BS artists.
