Default Exhaust problem 1 solved. Problem 2.....

Earlier I had made a post about my exhaust being loud freeway driving. I took a peek at the exhaust today and there are some nice rusted holes on both sides of the Y pipe. So I am thinking that solves the question about the loud engine noise. Now, my new questions:
1. Should I replace just the Y pipe or the Y pipe and the mufflers (The mufflers are now 14 years old -- they are stock, but there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with them) and get something like the Dynomax Y pipe and mufflers from Mid America?
2. Does Mid America have reasonable prices or is there somewhere else online that could offer something better for the price. I don't have much to spend, I just put in a $1200 stereo. :( ...but it sounds great! :) I'm looking to spend no more than $400 or so.
3. Could the holes in the Y pipe caused damage to any other part of the car? I think the holes have been there a few months now.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanx!!!

1, replace them all. if you developed holes, theres bound to be more forming.
2, er, if you have money. then sure. im broke for spending moneys. so, no.
2b, just go get some muffler shop to make you a Y, and either stay with thoes mufflers till they rust (who knows, maybe they wont), or get some pipes instead of mufflers. Unless you dont want loud.
3, It probably depends on where, and whats close to the holes. Like, if some rubber, or plastic was close by then it might have dried them out. more then likely not though. theres not really much that close to the exaust.

Rule of thumb: anything Eckler's has, somebody else has cheaper.

:iagree:

The Ecklers catalog is only good for one thing in my opinion. To see how much is too much to pay for an item. Then find it somewhere else for less.
