Default Exhaust Questions

ok, i want to do some exhaust work soon. i wanted to put on new exhaust from the flange of the exhaust manifolds back. In doing this, eliminate all 3 cats (2 in the downtube, 1 in the center) and put on some nice 40 series flowmasters. Anybody done this??? where can i get those CO2 eliminator things??? What type of power increase as well??? Any major problems??? Also I have the 4+3 trans in there if that makes a difference (and no im not looking for any smart remarks about that damn trans) thanks guys.

I see you have an 86, they have a single O2 sensor, there's no rear O2 sensors, so no need for O2 simulator (only 96 Vettes and up need O2 sims, and then only if the cats are removed). There's lot's of options, I'll let the L98 owners chime in.

I have an 86 also, and I am also about to upgrade my exaust. I have heard alot obout interior resonance though, so consider your options carefully. You do not want to have the wife or girlfriend in the car and try and have a conversation, and have to yell to be heard. I would advise going with hooker procomp longtube headers, hooker y-pipe, all coated inside and out, and then go with a high flow cat, then chose your mufflers accordingly. Like I said, you don't want it to be too loud while crusing. Good Luck!

of course i want to be loud. If theres anything worse than your girlfriend/wife talking while youre trying to enjoy driving a corvette, then let me know. HAHA. So, yes i do want loud, which is why i want to eliminate both sets of cats. Anyone out there still, whos done this/can recommend something???

Well Shut the F*ck up 666 hehe  you probably be giving your girlfriend a bunch of SFU when you make your car louder. Get ready for the bitchin :boxing

Get the flomaster kit. There aren't really any problems. Just bolt it up or get a muffler shop to do it for you if you don't like to get your hands dirty. You dont need sims and Cat Removal is a cinch. Get a shop to fab a pipe for you or gut your existing cat. These are all cheap options. :chevy

If you live in Jersey, don't you have to pass emissions?
