My service ride control light came on this morning, and stayed on. The last time this happened is when the battery went dead. I have 28200 miles on a 93 6speed. I hate giving my car to a dealer for any repairs. Any thoughts on the cause of the warning light. What service can be done to the ride control. It is the FX3. Thanks :seeya
One common thing about the service ride control. If you turn you ignition on and off three times in a row without moving the car the SRC will light. Make sure this is not why yours is on.

Re: Service Ride Control (Calif Vetteman)
Do it yourself. You will die when you hear the dealer quates on prices.
Pull the codes and start from there. Not sure if it's the same way for a 93 car. Hopefully somebody will know for sure. But get the codes and come back and let us know.
I have a '95 with 93,000 miles. My light came on for the second time last week. If you are any good with a wrench you can save yourself a ton of beer money. I believe the method for pulling the codes is different on your car than it is on mine. On mine, the star gear on the top of the shock broke, once in the front, once in the back. I was able to epoxy them back together for a free fix. Soon I will need a new actuator on the back. The cost of the parts on these systems is horrible. :smash:

Re: Service Ride Control (Calif Vetteman)
32 = Right Front out of position
Out of position codes are triggered if the computer senses that the actuator has not found the end stop position on the shock. Remove actuator at the indicated shock. Turn the valve gear on the shock stops after about 3 / 4 of turn, then you have a bad actuator. If it spins around continuously then it is a bad shock
If the shock turns out to be bad, Bilstein can rebuild them and if you want, even change the damping rate. Call Bilstein at 1-800-537-1085 and talk to them. That number is in San Diego, CA.
When mine stayed on I took it to a very good Vette only shop, I paid $56.00 for the computer check.
Needed a new right front actuater. He repaired it for another $165.00.
:hurray: Good news! It was the clip on top of the shock that had slipped down. I guess I had dislodged it durning cleaning. Thank God I have an honest mechanic. I did have the back up lights switch, that is on top of the tranny replaced. Thanks for everyones help. :seeya
