Default 1986 Valve Covers

Can someone post the removal/install for valve covers for a 86.{ Please include toque specs} Info from the "SERVICE MANUAL" would be a BIG help :steering:

The pass side is pretty straight forward. If you remove the Air pump and bracket from driv side its pretty easy. Some say if you remove Win. Wiper motor cover that will eliminate having to remove the air pump. Problem is one of the screws is facing the valve cover and you have about one inch or so of clearance.

Not hard,,, just change gaskets to feltpro.... and snug down.. :thumbs:

do u have the perimeter bolt or center bolt valve covers? i have the perimeter bolt with cast iron heads, and i didn't have to remove the air pump or the wiper motor to get mine off. piece of cake

perimeter bolts my question is on the passenger side there is a large pipe over the aft valve cover how does it come off? :steering:

i believe your talking about the egr pipe. does it have a heat sheild over it? it's held on by a clamp at the bottom, and it bolts into the intake at the top. i believe it takes a torque socket to get the bolt out.
