Does anyone have any info about kits to upgrade the rear brakes to use the 13" OEM calipers and rotors?
I just picked up a set of 6 piston Wilwoods and don't want to get rid of the big brakes I just put on last year. ( I also have two brand new sets of GS rotors).
I seem to recall a topic that talked about converting the fronts to use on the back but I can't find it.
Talk to H Rocks (Tom Moracca) about this... he did this on his C4. Do you have the 6-pistons up front already? BTW, I believe your rears are 12" rotors. If you need Tom's email, I can get it for you (plus phone numbers).

DRm is the only place that i know of that stil lsells an adapter to put J55 brakes on the rear of the car. The only bad thing is, you lose the parking brake.
You might want to contact Exotic Muscle and talk to Merle and see if he can fab something up similar to their Brembo rear package which retains the stock caliper for parking brake use only.
BTW, you are gonna love the brakes... there will be a lot more pedal travel but they will bring you down over and over. I'll be putting on 4-piston rears within the next couple of months, along with the new truck mc and Wilwood proportioning valve.

Damn Mike! Why don't you just throw an anchor out the back? What are you trying to do out brake Porsche GT2s? Do a write-up on the swap so if I decide to do that this coming winter I have a template will you?
Yeah... I was going to do it anyway... Geyer is interested in the results as well. Don't know about out breaking a GT2, but this setup should be world class, to be sure. Good luck this weekend... I never did get a chance to run VIR but it is on my list.
Don't bother on the rear... something like 10% of braking done back there. Not worth it! Just sell your GS's. it's hard to get anything to fit back there anyway.

 ok, so you may bother, but i wouldn't :)
Once you have some serious front brakes, then you can add to the rear. It makes a huge difference. The car will just hunker down instead of diving when you lean on the brakes. You do need a bigger master to do it correctly, or you will have a long pedal. I run a C5 master that I modified, along with a prop valve with my GNIII/J55 setup. I was willing to spend the $$ on the Superlite rears, but at the time Peter at DRM assured me that the J55 13" setup would be more than adequate in the rear. As usual, he was correct. It's a nice setup, and very cost effective. If you do the rears, change your rear hubs at the same time, as you're 95% of the way there anyway. Make sure you get air to the fronts. After the full conversion, and the PFC pad of your choice, you WILL be able to keep your right foot flat "until you see God, then brake!"
