anybody out there know what the vortec - tpi base flows. i really need to know this and what AS&M runners flow so i can make a decision on heads.
if these parts only flow 250cfm i dont need heads that flow 275cfm , right?
if you don't know about the above, how about any of the big mouth bases out there? that should get me close. thanks.
Re: scoggin dickey vortec tpi base (neverendingproject)
I don't know the flow numbers, but I believe the whole reason for that base is to use out of the box vortecs. The vortecs really don't need to be ported...just a little smoothing here and there. So I guess it depends on what kind of numbers you're looking for?
thanks for the reply. long story, i originally bought the base to use the vortec heads. seeing that the car is also undergoing a turbo install, i decided against the iron heads( that i already have). im going with afr's, but not sure which ones yet. if the intake wont flow but 250cfm, i dont need comp ported 195's. i can use street 180's which are $800 less.
i know, i was being sarcastic. the vortec heads are close cousins to lt1 heads, minus the reverse cooling.
so everyone knows, yes afr sells vortec style heads.
