Help! Changing 92 rear spring

I need to replace my rear spring. I looked in the service manual and they show a compressor. Looks like a special GM tool.Can I get away wiyhout the tool. And I have the car on a Quiklift. Do I want to keep the weight of the car on the wheels. Does anyone have step by step procedure.

Get the weight off the rear wheels. You can use a floor jack to take the pressure off the spring. Loose the nut and SLOWLY lower the jack. That will relieve the spring pressure. You might want to cushion the spring in the jack with an old towel.

Its fairly simple. You do not needs GM's tool. As posted above you can use a floor jack to slowly take the pressure off the spring.

you can also use a small block of wood to keep the jack from scratching the spring.
