Default n2o cam question

I have a 270H comp cam. The specs are 224 224 .425 .425, 110 lsa, currently running 1.52rr, looking to go to 1.6. I am currently running a 150 shot of nitrous and was looking to back off of the juice and install a miniram. I called the tech line and they said 4 deg. of overlap w/ 1.52rr. and 2deg. of overlap with 1.6rr. I was wanting to know your thought on this, is it a good cam, is 4 or 2 deg. overlap to much. Thank you for your time. :flag

Camming an engine for N2O is very similar to any other forced induction... You want to minimize overlap as much as possible in order to retain a complete combustion charge. I would suggest looking for a cam with a MINIMUM of 112 lsa; your MiniRam will also like it a lot better when not on the bottle. They don't like overlap either. Typically you want to lengthen the exhaust duration as well in order to get the additional combustion out efficiently. A great N2O cam I like that runs very well n/a as well specs at 230/238 @ .050" lift on a 114 with .539"/.558" lift with 1.5 rockers (it's a hyd. roller, sounds like you're running a flat tappet).
