Default How low is too low??

I finished putting my rear drop kit in. It's supposed to be good for an inch. Well, I just did some measurements after it settled a bit, and it seems that I've gone from (Space between the tire and the fender lip) 3 1/8" down to 1 3/4"... I've got about 3/4" of the bolt showing from underneath the car, so I could always crank it up a little bit, but, is that too low for this kit???

I think you could go another 1/2" or so with no problems. If don't recall any warnings about that with my kit.

I could go ANOTHER 1/2" down?? I'm already down about 1 5/8" , which I thoguht might be too much?? I like the look of it, but was just afraid I was looking for problems at that height?

if ur havin a VERY VERY hard time wit speedbumps or getting in ur driveway then maybe its a lil low, but technically its never to low until u bottom out on a stick or somthin, the lower the better buuuut then again u dont wanna mess up ur shocks or struts! and potholes will kill u!

heh, i wonder if anyone really gets the question of this... maybe im the one that doesnt

with 3/4" of an inch left on the bolt. i wouldn't worry. if you have questions about it, maybe get another nut, and a lock washer, and put the washer inbetween them, and crank that second nut on there real tight. just an idea.

Ok - This was one thing that I was thinking. I'm not too worried about the nut backing out, because it's a nylon lock nut. The only thing that concerned me was how I was almost at the end of the bolt, but, these bolts were manufactured for strength, so I don't think it's a problem - A buddy of mine just stopped over and couldn't believe how it looks - First thing out of his mouth was "Wow, looks GREAT, but now you have to do the front, cause THAT looks high now!!"

:banghead:

EDIT:
Here's a BEFORE pic, showing the height of my 4X4 LT1:

Here's an after pic, you can compare it to my sig

Amen to that bro'!

As long as you have the right wheels, though (which you do).

It's the funniest thing in the world to see a car that has been seriously lowered where they leave the 13" rims on it.

You just gave the Websters Dictionary description of the word RICE

PS - I hope my wheels don't fit into the 13" group :jester

What are you guys doing to get the fronts down that low? Removing the A-arm pads from the ends, or more?

Thank you guys. Yeah, they are 18s

My car is lowered with coilovers, that's how I got it so low. But before I had the coilovers I lowered it even lower with 12" bolts in the back and no wedges at all in the front. The pictures in my signature is lowered with the method mentioned above.

I've seen your Vette featured somewere. I can't remember where. You said you smoked a guy in a Ferrarri. Then the guy said something like "If I knew a Corvette could do that, I would have saved my money and got one of those." You got a wicked Vette there. Very nice  :auto:

This is too low for ride quality:

Those two pictures were taken over the period of about two weeks, and I'm pretty sure my kidneys are still bruised.

I heard that you should have the rear 1/2-3/4" higher then the front so you don't get front end lift at highway speeds.

Not necessarily. Highway speeds, yes, but highway speeds at 150+, which I'll never see.. Anything under 130 I've been told my multiple sources that I'll never feel a difference...
