If anyone is interested, after close calls the past 2 days with a weak horn.
I replaced the LOW tone horn on my 87, with one from Pep Boys.Hated to say Pep Boys and Corvette in the same sentence..
Bought a $13.00 replacement horn.
I took the original plastic covering from the Corvette horn connector,by inserting a small screwdriver and the origianl plastic clip slipped off exposing the female ends of the original wires. One bolt held the horn on..The replacement horn bolted on and the original wires slipped over the new terminals on the replacement horn and that was it.. NO splicing of the original wiring..
Only took 15 mins. I am in no way a mechanic, but this was easy even for me.. Hope it helps someone else.
Stay safe..
