In your answer to that initial post, you neglected to reveal your gear ratio. Your 3000 rpms at 80 mph is in 3rd? If that is supposed to be O.D., there is something wrong with your speedo or you have different gears than you think.

RACE ON!!!
That is in O.D., you may be right then, I may have a speeed problem or a tach problem  .... They are the stock gear ratio of 3.07, I know that because I have had the car jacked up on both side and have done the tire turn test.
Please advise???????? What the F$$$ :flag
Re: Someone wanted to know!!!!!! HELP!!######## (1990CORVETTE)
I have found it to be the case that '90 tachs are the most inaccurate of all years. Mine reads way high, up to 2000+rpm off. At watkins glen it was useless, staying pegged most of the time.
I've checked it against the computer using DataMaster data logging software to get the 2000rpm discrepency. Some say it's teh tach filter that goes bad, but i've read the filter is not available. http://www.f-body.org/gears has an rpm/mph calculator that might be helpfull
