I'm ready for bushing replacement. I think I will go with polyeurethane. Is there any one brand better than the other? Prothane out of the catalogs or order from someone like energy suspension? Thanks ahead of time for any responses.
I used energy suspension. I just finished the install yesterday. I don't know about the other brands, but with energy, the only bushings you have to press in are the front bushings on the upper control arm. The rest are 2 piece and you can push them in by hand. Energy also had excellent customer service when I had to have them send me a replacement bushing for one I split while installing it. They sent it out right away and didn't charge me for it.
Also, the black energy ones are graphite impregnated, so they won't squeak hardly at all. Mine don't squeak one bit.
Whether PST or ES go for the polygraphite to minimize the chance of squeaks.
I have a set of ES sway bar bushings waiting to go in. The ES bushings in the IROC are greasable so I will cut a groove around hte main bushings and tap the holder to take a grease fitting.
I got the full energy kit for the '84-95 vettes. They weren't labelled or anything, but the part numbers were molded into the edge of the bushings. The master list said where each bushing went, so there wasn't ever a problem figuring it out.
Check out http://www.powerperformancemotorsports.com before you decide. They sell PST polygrahite kits cheaper than buying direct from PST. I bought both front and rear kits, but can't say how they are yet, they're still in the box. I got the front kit with ball joints and outer tie rod ends and was happy to see USA stamped on them.
Front kit: $220
Rear kit: $85
Rear sway bar bushings: $18
Freight $0
