Default ? about MSD plug wires for LT1

i had a set of these on my old 89' Vette and they fit great. i was wondering how they fit on the LT1 Corvettes... mostly if all the wire lengths are correct. ive had problems with this in a few other brands of plug wires. also, how do they hold up to underhood heat? and finally, MSD now offers the wires in either black or red. the red wires cost about $5 more. anyone have any pics of either color installed? thanks in advance

The set of 8.5mm's that I bought fit well. Very satisfied! :yesnod:

No problems with mine, but only 5000 mi on them.

Have to snap a pic sometime. I would say the red is only a slight dress up to the engine compartment, hardly noticeable.

I have the red wires but there was no difference in price when I ordered them from Summit Racing last year. The lengths were fine but like all plug wire installs on an LT1 there was blood, swearing, temper tantrums, and lots of cold beer to soothe nerves

The only real problems I encountered were having to use a Dremel tool to get the bigger 8.5mm wires to fit in the factory 7mm wire clips. I never did replace all of the clips but the wires are far enough from the heads and block that the few I did replace are holding them quite well.

I know this isn't the best shot for you, but here is my MSDs. I made my own looms using the factory idea, but with better position of holding wires.

The plug wires have been on the car for 3 years, still work great!

They're longer than the stock ones so they fit around headers.

If you take off the inner wheel well liners it makes the job alot easier.

The new coil wire has been on the car for 6 months, I waiting till I pulled the water pump for that one. :D

Ditch the factory wire holder, and use some by Mallory. There's a package of two of each: 4 wire, 3 wire, and 2 wire holders. It's the kind that are kind of clam shell that the wires fit into, close the holder, and a set screw holds it in place. I was able to get real good wire placement with these.
