Spark plug and fuel injector ohms
This just goes to show that if you want a job done right and carefully, you should probably do it yourself, because ultimately you are the only one that really cares about the final outcome.
Today I did some research on electrical systems, then thought I would measure the resistance on my MSD 8.5mm wires. I had a local shop here build the wires. I bet he didn't even test them before hooking them all up.
Below were my results:
Existing MSD 8.5mm Wires
1. 181.3 Ohms 48"
2. 121.2 Ohms 36"
3. OL 42"
4. 110.2 Ohms 29"
5. 110.9 Ohms 31"
6. 96.2 Ohms 25"
7. OL 27"
8. 86.6 Ohms 23"
Coil. To Cap 138.9 Ohms 18"
So wires 3 and 7 weren't even measuring Ohms. No wonder it felt like I was missing.
I then went on to measure the resistance on the fuel injectors. They all looked good to me except the cold start injector, only 4.0 Ohms. This doesnÂ’t sound good. Does it sound like that one is failing? It is a different type of injector than the others. The others are Lucas 22# injectors, but I don't know what type of injector the CSI is. It has white markings on it that say RP 17080402, and then there are impression markings on it that say 109 0280170600.

If the wire is in tact one of the ends must be faulty; you can order new ends from MSD or a distributor.
