the other day i was going down the road and came to a red light. i had just gotten in the car so it wasnt warmed up at all. i had to hit the brakes a little hard to stop in time, speeding a little, and my low coolant light came on for just a flash. any idea why that is? it went right back off. is my coolant just high enough to not trigger this sensor and when i braked it got low? is a sensor bad? how can i check it? thanks for the help fellas.
I have the same trouble...I did as said above and even bought a new sensor...same thing...it is intermitant...I am guessing it is a lose connection up the line somewhere then...
I had one come on intermittently after making the trip back down to LSU.
Remove the radiator cap, start the car and let it warm up to tstat opening temperature, then add coolant/water to bring it to the top. With it being so cold, my stat rarely opens. The stock stat in 95 is 180.
It may also be adviseable to replace the radiator cap. I didnt have to, but probably should.
The Low Coolant sensor is stuck into the top of the radiator, so whenever the level drops below the sensor, the circuit reads that and the light comes on.
