It's 9/16 and this is the style wrench bought specifically for those bolts. using the closed end to break loose, then the open end to quickly back out. The open end is designed such that you don't have to remove it from the bolt head, like a ratchet wrench. It has worked great for me. I have not seen them at Sears but then I never looked specifically for them.

Well finally getting the headers on Tuesday for sure. Removed the exhaust system as a whole piece as I couldn't get the bolts for the flanges on the converter off. Damn that thing is heavy as one piece. Once I had it off and removed the converter head shield was able to take an impact to the converter flanges. All the bolts busted off, no problem, have a new converter coming too and bought replacement bolts already. Now that the deconstruction is done can't wait for the install!
