i have 91 l98 internal engine components are stock. i do have a stage 3 chip headers, no cats and all the bolt ons you can buy. i heard wet nos is the way to go and the nos5151 is wet right? im only planning on 100 shot and had a few questions. do i really need a timing retard box? do i need a window switch? what other components might i need? and finally about how long does it take to install? thanks
You don't "need' anything other than the 5151 but there are many options if you are interested. You CANNOT use anything other than stock chip unless it is a nitrous specific chip. Aftermarket chips add timing. This is BAD. If you decide to buy (and you should)I can give you some option recommendations. Nitrous: The most fun you can have with your clothes on.
I'm currently running a NOS 5151 wet kit. They say you can just use everything that comes with the kit but i would recomend getting a window switch along with getting colder plugs. I haven't pulled any timing as of now, it seems to be running pretty well as is. The install itself isn't very hard but take your time and you'll be pleased with the results. :smash:

i just finished installing NOS 5151 wet kit..the window switch is Mallory Hyfire685..you can set window mode # 5 to what ever Rpm say 3000 and mode #6 to stop at say 5000. mode # 4 (i think) sets the retard. to a specifified value recommended by holley..which is about 3* retard.. other modes control over reving and could be used as a safety device to protect engine from miss shifts..
I used relays to activate the soleniods as descibed in the NOS Kit and added another relay to activate box, when i reach the rpm i programmed into the #685...
the switches to activate systems were put in the astray...3 switches mounted to a Hand made Stainless steel plate. :D
AS for the plugs, standard plugs are used for up to 150 shot, any more, the tech note suggest using colder plugs.
