Wind shield problem

This is a crazy question but is there any way to fix a windshield scratch? I know you can fix cracks but is there a way to polish or buff out a scratch? My wiper blade was messed up and the little metal pieces scratched it from top to bottom. ????????

If you can click the scratch with you fingernail no. You cant repair. If it is a light scratch the Eastwood co. has a polishing kit that works pretty good.

I don't know if you would call it a click, you can feel it, but not really "click it." Do they have website or do you know where you can pick up a kit. It's probably worth a try either way.

http://www.eastwood.com part#40030 $46 plus shipping. Don't spend too much money trying to fix. A new ppg windshield installed around here is $250 or so

I'm just now looking at the Eastwood catalog, and their claim is that there kit removes deeply scratched glass. :confused: They offer another part with the kit for light scratches and wiper haze also.

Thanks alot! At least this gives me an option. Does the kit work well on light scratches? But for $250 I can live with them for now!

There are several shops in my area that repair scratches and even bulls-eyes, while you wait; last time I checked it was about $25.00/$40.00.

The one that I remember best was a primarily a U-HAUL rental place.

seen them advertized, but never used... be interested to hear how they come out... have heard that they can produce distortion with deep scratches....
