Is it just me? Or do chevys go through left front wheel hubs like crazy?! The tale, tale slight crunching is coming from the left front of the Z. One year ago I had to change the left front wheel hub on my '96 Ext-Cab Z71. A year before that on my first '86 Corvette, and chevy, I had to change the left front wheel hub on that one! What gives?! :mad
Maybe I drive funny or something? Maybe its all those highspeed left lane merges, or the going over speed bumps on the left side. Then what explains the truck then? This sux! The part for the Zr1 is $400! It is the same part for the other '90 corvettes too. The part for my truck was $200 and for the previous corvette it was $200. ....ahhh man......... :nonod:  :nonod:
Re: Another Chevy another Left Wheel Hub...... (Kieran ***)
I've had all sorts of noises from my Wheel Hub assemblies too. Clicking and rubbing, dragging, sounds on left hand turns. Only from the rear though, no the front like you. I pulled them and cleaned, removed all the rust, and coated the splines with anti-seize and all the sounds went away instantly. My Wheel hubs did not have any play with the wheels of the ground or any excessive drag, only slightly from the brakes . Of course the front hubs have no splines. Wheel hubs are not cheap, but I have been lucky to avoid having to replace mine so far. :D
