Is the Master cylinder interchangable between years?

Is the Master cylinder interchangable between years?
I have a chance o pick up a master cylinder from an '84 corvette. Will this work on my '86? What is the difference betwween the earlier years?

ABS.
check GM Parts direct... or any of the online parts suppliers. see if they have a unique number for 84/5/6.

I didnt see any differences except that 86 only has one reservoir on top and the other years have 2.It didnt seem to be ABS specific.Im wondering why one cant use a MC from 84-90 or so on an 86.I dont see any problems unless theres a difference in the hardware someplace.
