If I change the turbine housing to a larger A/R ratio, does the outside housing dimensions get larger? I would assume that they must. I have limited room and if my housing gets larger with a change, I need to make sure the extra room is available.
Just won the exact same turbo as yours.. tell me about yours and what ya got it for.. just wanted to see if I was par for my deal... has a .70 cold side A/R and not sure on the exhaust but i bet same as yours!
Did you guys say that you've got a .68 a/r on the turbine side??? That seems really small. I would think that would be for a little civic. maybe even a twin setup , but that still seems small for that. .84 or a .96, maybe even a 1.X might be good for a single on a V8, might think about upgrading.
Yep a .96 is usually what they usually run on 350's. physically it will be no larger. For the time being though, the .68 will get you up and running. It will just spool very fast and have part throttle boost. it will however be resrictive up top. you'll feel it fall off.
I have a turbonetics catalog, If the center section fromt he master power are the same, I would imagine that turbonetics T-70 housings will fit just fine... I would like to know for sure before i go out and pay for a new housing though just like you. I have the email of the person I purchased the turbo from, he may be able to shed some light on the subject. If you find anyhting out, please lemme know!
I was going to run the .68 to start with, but if I install the wastegate piping onto the housing, I would like to do it as few times as possible! Lcvette, if I find out any info, I'll let ya know. I have a couple of numbers of Master Power (brand x) distributors, and they may also be able to help us.
Nice, yeah and if you start cutting and welding, selling the old housing may be a little harder to recoup any money. keep your eyes and ears out and I'll do the same!
