Re: wheel offsets and info for 89 vert (1989redvette)
I have the setup vader86 recommends (which is the Grand Sport configuration) on my 96, with 315/35's, and the wheels/tires stick out between 1/4 and 1/2 inch from under the wheelwell so if your local gendarmes are sensitive to that you should consider the Grand Sport flares as well.
thast what i'm afraid of... those things look aweful in my opinion...look like truck fender flares :U ... i'll stick with the 275 /40's if i have to put those on.. any one else have experience with this??
also do they ever rub the fender lip?? living in PA is like driving a vette through a mine field..
Re: wheel offsets and info for 89 vert (1989redvette)
Mine have never rubbed on the wheelwell, through some pretty hard autox use. Car is not lowered (not legal in stock SCCA class), but there's a lot of room over the tire so I doubt if it would rub even if the car is lowered an inch or so. But they do stick out from under the wheelwell - not enough in my opinion to need the flares so I'd go for it, the 11" wheels and 315's look baaaad.
well sounds like that is a bonus..i just use mine for a driver though i drive aggresive... :steering: anyone have pics of how far they stick out??
