Default Air induction

I have been looking at getting some type of air induction system for my 1990. I have seen things in MedAmerica like a Vortex Ram Air Induction System for $299 and a Cold Air Induction System w/K &N Filter for $199. I also like the looks of the Triple Take Air Intake system but I dont see one that fits my L98, just the LT1/LT4. What do you guys recommend for air induction on a 1990 L98. It doesnt have to be one of the intake I listed above, those are just the ones I have seen in MidAmerica. Let me know what you think and where I can get whatever you recommend!
Thanx!

They are all roughly equal in their uselessness.

They only would give a small gain over the K&N Open Lid on the L98, but on a heavily modded motor slightly more.

The Claw is available for all those with slanted radiators, but its not a cold air intake, and the surface area of the 3 filters is equal to the one you have now.

I would say you are better off saving for something else.

If you are speaking of the $199 kit that has the lid covering the stock air cleaner housing, I just completed the install. I got mine from SLP, which is the same thing only cheaper. Way better throttle response, but I also relocated the MAT/IAT sensor to the back of the air cleaner housing a while ago. It will give you better throttle response, but it may not show up on the dyno. It may show up at the track after 60 mph or so. But I certainly don't think it is useless, as it has enhanced my other mods as it will do to yours. :seeya :steering:

I too have that SLP unit and it is a nice unit; you can expect about 5chp gain over the cut lid with K&N.

However, a cost benefit of the SLP setup is that they include a stock size K&N filter which drops the real cost to under $100 (from SLP direct).

I'm not sure that setup will fit a '90 L98 however due to the different radiator shroud.

I started this thread, I have to say that C4smaj took the mod to the 10th degree. He did a great job with the modification.

it costs a hell of a lot but the A/O forced air induction has some dyno proven horsepower and would be even more when the car is moving. and i think it looks bad ****!

Duh! I already know about these systems just didn't put the name with the face. C4SMAJ did the same thing but for a lot less, check out the pics of his mod in the thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=757282
