Default Pro-Built trannys/ torque converter

Thinking of getting my tranny rebuilt and was wondering if these guys are the way to go. And what stall speed to go to also. Opinions?

Unfortunately, I don't think any tranny rebuilder(they are all rebuilt, no "new" ones) can guarantee that every tranny he builds will last. I have heard bad things about every one of them. But some are better than others and I think Pro-built is pretty good from what I have heard. My point: it is always going to be a shot in the dark....which is bad for paying $1500. Make sure it has a great warranty!!! Good luck!

I was thinking of just getting the rebuild kit and have someone locally rebuild mine. Any suggestions on stall speed on the torque converter?

I just had a rebuilt one put in from Mad Dog Louie. I am having a lot of trouble with my speedo gears getting eaten up, for the 2nd time in 40 miles.

But a 2200 stall is good for a fairly stock L-98.

Good luck!
