84-? LCD Dash

84-? LCD Dash
I picked up a LCD dash in the Junkyard and reconditioned it.
When I tested it I noticed that the displays had different outlines and display pictures than my original 84. Anyone know haw I can tell what year this one is from? Is there a place that shows photo's of the different model years displays? THE GM part number is wore off, unfortunately.
Can any of these (84-89) LCD dash cluster's be interchanged between model years?

If you have the original look at the ID tag, I think the 84 was LN. LAW is another typical tag, I dont understand why you have diferent displays w/ the exeption of perhaps an upshift arow, because I installed a 88 unit in my 84 and it was identical.

The ID Tag says LAK and the part Number (I'm Guessing) is
2?079745 the ? being a 3,5, or 9
The difference is my original 84 has 4 thin rectangular windows with rounded corners around the 4 separate dual gauges. This one only has 2 windows around the oil and temperature portions. The other thing is that next to the sweep displays, the 84 has solid bars of different colors where this unit has triangular marks up the display....
Any help is appreciated.

I remember reading that GM changed the cluster a little for '85 from the original '84 look.
As I recall, less colors on the tach to make it easier to read and also the digits in the four displays controlled by the switches on the dash were made larger and easier to read.
