i tried the regular SBC guideplates on my LT4, along with pro magnum 1.6 rockers. the rocker alignment simply didn't work with this arrangement. is there a guideplate specific to LTx engines? or do most people with this problem just run the adjustable lunati guideplates?
would half the rockers having a .150" offset pushrod cup be too much offset to work?
i notice the LT4 self-aligning rockers that came on the car only work because they self-align. they're all at angles relative to each other, while the pro magnums were being held parallel to each other by the guideplates.
i found a post on camaroz28.com about LTx guideplates. turns out GM makes a guideplate specific to fast-burn and LTx heads. the valve spacing is indeed different. so the only way to get the geometry perfect is either with adjustable guideplates, or these GMPP ones. FYI for future searches...
