Anybody using Accel Gen. 6 ECM

Anybody using Accel Gen. 6 ECM
I just bought an accel gen 6 ECM for my supercharged 85...do I have to use the calmap program to change ecm settings or can I use some of the free progams like tuner cat etc. ?

TunerCat is for the GM ECMs. You need to use Calmap to make adjustments to your Gen6.

Ya gotta have CalMap... You should've gotten the software with the unit you purchased. I've used DFI 6.0/6.32 for almost 10 years.

I bought it on ebay from vette2vette used parts...I don't think it comes with software..I was hoping I could use freeware because of the calmap software cost $200.00..........thanks for the reply

You can use the freeware, but you need the cable.

justin...............which freeware will work with the accel ECM............a cable I can have made up or buy.

You can download Calmap off the Accel/DFI website. You will need to buy there harness for it though. I do not believe there is any way around it if you do not have one to copy.
