I can find nothing specific on electric seats so I was wanting to know if it's feasable to swap my power drivers seat for the passenger seat (non-powered)?
The back part doesn't matter as it's the base thats becoming noticable torn (in a small way but that'll change!)
Thought I'd run it past you guys before I do something wrong!
PS; Drivers seat is on RHS due to Australian conversions but shouldn't matter - So long as MY drivers side STILL has the power seat!
I am not sure, do you want to swap the rails? easy... the wiring could be a pain... you will have to relocate the harness from the floor on the left to the right... you might just find it easier to cut and lengthen the wires across the transmission hump.
If you have power seats but not "sport seats" with controls on the bolster it should be easy to swap seats.
In the latter case look under the left hand seat to see if there is a power connector under or through the carpet slit. On domestic cars this was the std location for power seats while the right hand seat was the option. So the right hand power cord plugged into the main cable in front of the left hand seat power cord.
Are you talking about the whole seat or the cushions??? If you are talking cushions they can be changed without a problem, they are the same.

Take a few moments out of your busy day to think about our nations POW/MIA's and the families they left behind. They were young men and women, from at least four wars, that gave their all.
A SOLDIERS PRAYER
Lord, bless the Wives who grieve alone,
And comfort the Mothers who mourn their own.
Give solace to the Fathers who lost their sons
on foreign shores and in places unknown.
Lord, strengthen the resolve of we who
remain to see that they did not die in vain.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
First take the bottom of the seat out by reaching underneath the front of the seat, there is a swing hook about 3 inches long that hooks around a piece of metal pipe, unhook this and lift the cushion out very simple. The back foams have a heavy metal frame that is embeaded into the foam. This frame is what holds the back onto the seat . There is catches on the seat back that this frame slips under. You have to push on the side of the foam to unhook the cushion. This is the hard part. With the bottom out you can reach up under the seat back and feel the frame. All you do is push hard on the side and flex that frame and pop it out of the hooks holding the back cushion.
Hope this helps. Hard to explain.

the seats are totally swappable...i've done it...the seats will come off the rails (power or not...it doesn't matter) then switch and bolt down....just remember what bolt holes are used on each side, because they are different. the biggest PITA is getting the bottom cushion off the rest of the seat...once you see how one works the other one will be easy. push down on the front of the cushion to take some of the pressure off that hook...then pull it towards the floor and then push it towards the back of the car...good luck and enjoy your nicer drivers seat...i know mine felt firmer
one final thought...if the passenger seat is 100% manual then the back "tilt" lever will be near the tranny tunnel instead of on the outside....just really look it over before you swap more than the bottom cushion
Thanks to everyone who responded!
I merely took the bottom squab (Where your tail sits) off one side and swapped with other seat...prolonging the $$$ of re-upholstering, but we all know what that's like, don't we?!
