Turn signal doesn't cancel

Turn signal doesn't cancel

Do I need a new stalk or a separate cam piece to correct this problem? (88 coupe)

I suspect its like my 92...

you need to dig into the column and replace the signal switch. its the pivot part that has broken... hard to explain.

I am not 100% sure how yours looks, tho....

it works but won't shut off after you turn?? if thats the case i believe ya just need to replace the turn signal cancell spring there is a left and right spring cost is like a buck or something... :cheers:

Perhaps Oldman is telling me to buy a shop manual? :)

Anyway, yes it DOES work it just does not cancel.

:iagree: Had the same problem, it was the "pivot and pulse switch assembly" or something like that.

if you look into the small space where the stalk goes into the colum you should see the problem. i think it was the 'left signal that this happens to. the reason is theres a small plastic piece that pushes the signal switch. it usually breaks off. i reached in there with needle nose ans super glued it back on. it worked but not smoothly until i had the column rebuilt. anyhow be warned guys... dont press too hard on that lever or it will break.
