Am I missing a bulb that goes into the shift selector lense housing? Why is there two holes on each side of the housing? I have one bulb for the thing. Would it be too bright if I wired another bulb in there?

Not sure if stock had two, but I just installed an auto (replaced my 4+3) and I used 2 bulbs in the consule. The original socket is discontinued so I went to napa and purchased a generic socket for the required bulb type. ( I cannot remember the bulb #). I did have to adjust/modify the socket slightly but they work fine.

I noticed that too. My 85 is only wired for one bulb.

Is the light coming from it eye catching? I dont want it to be too bright. How does yours look?

hey guys--I just did some updates on my console and one of them was replace my shift indicator lens.My bracket also has a place for two bulbs.The part number of the bulb is 194.However,that is a 2 candlepower bulb (to bright) so I went with a number 161 (1 candlepower) Same base and design.It works great in mine,not to bright,not to dim.Why there is a place for two bulbs,I have no clue. :confused: :thumbs: :thumbs:

I have always wondered this, I should add an additional bulb to mine as well, since I have changed the shift lens bulb color to red it has become dimmer.
