Default Block hugger headers

The stock headers are "block hugers." But would the one's for sale in, like jegs work good with my 85' B/C they say block hugger headers. Or should i spend the money for the full length one's. Dumb ? but I would like to see some opinions.

Actually, the factory shorty headers don't "hug" the block. trhey just "point" straight down. The aftermarket shorty headers you are refering to actually come done a little further than stock ones and hug close to the block. I've considered these headers as a replacement someday when my stock ones go but the Y pipe have to be modified or custom made. I'd love to get full length headers but these engine bays don't lend themselves well to the install. Heating of brake lines and electrical harnesses even the florboard become issues.
