Arrgh, datamaster won't connect, nor will Diacom...
OK, I tried a friends Diacom last week, and all it ever did was say "linking." We tried every fix we could find on the net to no avail.
I bought a datamaster cable from AKMcables.com this week. It arrived Saturday. We messed with that for about 2 hours and could not get it to connect to my car either. WTF is going on here? This is getting REALLY frustrating.
I can use Diacom to read codes via the SES light, but that's it. How do I check and see if my port is bad, or if the ECM is starting to poop out?
Re: Arrgh, datamaster won't connect, nor will Diacom... (neat)
check to see if all the pins in the ALDL connection (on the car) are fully engaged in the housing. I had one that was pushed back and didn't make contact when the cable was hooked up.
when you are using diacom it will say "linking to vehicle" even if the cable isn't hooked to the car, this also means that the cable is working correctly, if the cable isn't hooked up to the computer or is not working it would say "cable not present" or something like that.
hope this helps,
