I was told by the wifey (who was following along behind me), that when the vette is still cold and idling at a traffic light, there is condensate coming out of both sides of the exhaust.
But when I accelerate normally away from the traffic light, there is only condensate coming out of the passenger side pipe. Is this telling me I might have some sort of obstruction in the exhaust system? There is a crossover pipe ahead of the cats.
You have two cats with no cross-over ahead of them, though I'm not sure if there is a cross-over in the resonators.
One cat is closer to the headers than the other; I wonder if that accounts for the difference you see.
Of course you could always measure pressure in front of the cats to see if there is any obstruction, like one getting clogged.
You could unscrew an O2 sensor and insert a fitting to a pressure gauge. If you do this be sure to use some steel tubing before the rubber to avoid heat damage to the tubing.
My corvette does have a crossover pipe before the cats (aftermarket mod). This is why I was wondering why the uneveness of the exhaust gases.
I suppose most drivers never know what's coming out of their tailpipes, since they are the ones doing the driving. I wouldn't have known either if the wife hadn't of said something and piqued my curiosity.
I have been told by sevaral Corvette and hipo mechanics that the "condensate" is the sign of a healthy motor :yesnod:
take it for what its worth...My 72...did it...my 78 did...my 84 Z28 did it and my 94 does it....not a problem with any of the motors in those cars.

I get a lot of condensate, so my engine must be really healthy! Just curious, what's the GURU'S reasoning?
