From what I know its alot shorter runners from height and plenum width. Id guess it would rev about the same as an SR. Maybe not better, but if it could be had for 400, thats a deal in my book.
I never saw it either. It looks like it would be more like a miniram. I agree for say 400, its cheaper than a set of good runners and does look like it could work nicely. Dont know whats up with the two throttlebody locations. Someone here will wind up with one soon and we'll all find out all about it.
Im pretty positive this was posted here in the past about these TPI's...Ive seen the web site before and its pretty cool. The TB mounting is cool too,if say you need to move it for clearance on other cars youre doing a TPI swap into.
Since I dont know how long the runners are,Im guessing its near the length of a stock GM TPI.Dont see it being able to perform better than a Super Ram though. Its plenum is too narrow to match the volume area of the Plenum a SR has.
However, thats just guessing and Im curious to know more about these as well as far as specifics goes.
I used to work for electromotive (www.emi.cc), and now I work for Delteq (www.delteq.com). I ran a First manifold on my bone-stock ZZ4 crate engine in a 1984 Regal. Let me just say that this manifold absolutely rocks for street SBC's under 6500rpm! The difference between the carbureted ZZ4 and the First Injection setup is phenomenal.
The engine dynoed at around 470 lb-ft, IIRC, and about 370HP. Torque peaked at 4000, HP at 5200. Stock ZZ4 was 405 lb-ft and 355HP. The torque difference is what is really amazing.
Honing is not really needed - bores are already about 1.75"!
For more high-rpm power (at the loss of a tiny bit of low end torque), I would siamese the runners about 1/2 way down, and port the intake plenum to allow a single opening for each "pair" of runners. There is enough casting material to do that.
I am currently building up a turbo 1992 Camaro with mostly stock Vortec heads and another First manifold. I am going to make an adapter plate to use the LS1 throttle on it (very easy to make/very available throttle). The stock First throttle is a little restrictive past 350HP. I will most likely be running the engine Nat. Asp. for a while...I will post power numbers when available. It might be a while though...I still need rods and pistons!
