Please help! Clutch making noise
I was wondering if anyone in Corvetteland can help me. Every time I push my clutch down to the floor, there is this loud knocking noise that comes from the vincinity of the bellhousing. Everything is fine when the clutch is engaged, or partially pressed down, but when you get it about two inches from the floor, it starts knocking. I had the thing apart about 2000 miles ago for a new clutch (Drag radials and 5000 rpm launches killed the OEM) I did not replace the flywheel. I also didn't get it surfaced because the place I took it said that it couldn't. (??) If anybody can give me some advice about what to check to fix, I would be very grateful! Thanks! :)

well for what its worth, If you have replaced the clutch before. It could be a loose bolt comming out. Sounds like possibly the throwout bearing also. Or a Misalligned clutch arm. What it comes down to is you probably need to tear it open to find probably some damage. Good Luck :smash: :seeya

I guess you're right. Scares me to think of ripping it apart again, seems like forever when your Corvette is on jackstands for a week or two! Anyway, thanks for the input!!!!
