Default New guy with a new vette that needs work (optispark)

Hey guys, I just bought a 93 Vette , the previous owner said that I needed an opti change? I figured you guys might beable to help me come up with one. Does anyone have 1 laying around that works with not alot of miles on it? Im in a pinch for cash and dont have the $$$ for a new one.

Ah the opti, the bane of all we LT1 owners! You would be better off converting to the later style but that would include mechanical changes too. If you're strapped for cash, this isn't the time. Post in the C4 parts for sale section and eventually someone will have one. I just sold my old one on there after replacing mine during a cam change. BTW, welcome to the forum and congrats on your Vette purchase, you'll love it! :seeya

Man you are out of luck. When I did my 93 blown 383ci LT1 build up. My optic still working perfect but I decided to put a new one in any way and discard the old one. I should have keep it in the garage. Oh well

Actually it's not that bad. If you're used to working on engines and have a good manual you can handle it. Seal installation is critical. A leaking seal can ruin an opti in short order.
