I have the LED dash on my 89. The fight side (eng temp, gas mileage) is now not as bright as the rest of the dash lights. I can still see it, but barely. Now if a light goes out, doesn't it completly go out.....why would it dim and how difficult to change out? Thanks
I had the same problem twice, both time it was a burned out bulb, if it happens again I'm replacing sockets. I was new to C4's when this happened and hadn't joined the forum yet-so I pulled the whole cluster to replace the bulbs :nono: found out later on the forum you don't need to pull the cluster,
Good Luck :seeya
So how would I get to that light without pulling the cluster?? Thanks
Remove the bezel, there will be 4 tin covers over the bulbs, they are just pushed into place, so pry the ones off over the failed bulb(s) and the bulb can be removed with needle nose pliers, just pull them straight out. New bulbs can be slid in the same way and reassemble. Find out what kind of bulb you need first and get at least on of them. In some areas, the bulbs are becoming scarce.
That's right, but when installing your new bulbs use a piece of shrink tape or something to prevent touching them, body oils can reduce the life, if not shorten it of the bulbs.Look on the help section there may even be a post. ;)
