Default Anti Freeze

Getting ready to pull my radiator and give it a good cleaning....was wondering if regular DexCool Anti Freeze was OK going back in my 93 LT1. Also going to do the Throttle Body bypass while its drained. Thanks

The rule of thumb is to put back the same kind you take out since the two don't play well together. Don't mix them. If you have the green, stick with it. If you have the orange (DexCool) then a previous owner must have changed over since it wasn't a factory fill in Corvettes untill (don't quote me here) 95.

Does that stand true even after a system flush? Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

It wouldn't matter after a good flush. But if you change it evry year of two as you should, the green stuff is fine, and much cheaper.

If you started with gree, stay with green. You can never flush all the green out completely and DexCool doesn't mix with green.

We change customers' trucks one to the other, both ways all the time, according to their preference. I've never seen or heard of any problems resulting from it.
