ok i checked the codes and this is what i got.......
H28..quad driver #3
H43..Knock sensor circuit
H64..Oxygen sensor lean
H72..Gear selector fault..is this is the plug on the tranny that has 4 or more prongs it is unpluged do to a damaged wire im repairing
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (VictorRussell'92)
I'm a little lost here..You have an OBD 1 system and you are say codes H-43 etc.....Is the "H" stand for history? My 92 OBD 1 ECM just spits out numbers....but anyway, in reading this and your last post, I'd go back to the basics first before jumping into the codes. Put a timing light on (one at a time) on the plug wires to see if the miss coincides with the light. Maybe narrowing down the offending cylinder(s). What is the FP? Non- start and running? Also, since the alt. is givng you fits, how is the battery? A low / bad battery can cause its own problems with the drivability of the car.
Chasing down those 2 codes isn't hard, but I think something else is going on here seeing the parts you have already replaced.
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (ittlfly)
I would check the knock sensor for damage and look at the wiring to see if it is shorted or broken. Also, the o2 sensor could be bad which could very well cause problems on one side only. I think you can get one for fairly cheap at Autozone, though wires would be the first thing to check.
I'd think a bad firing cylinder would cause a rich condition rather than a lean one unless the timing has been advanced too much somehow.
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (kman0066)
ok guys i decided to remove the alt and check it out i found some pretty damaged things in it !! .. ok as i talked about before the part od the alt that has the 3 terminals from the coiled wires. well the thing with fin on it is where the terminals bolt down to... 2 of the terminals where burnt up .. So there for i think this may be my missing prob and then causin all the other codes.. what do you think ??
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (GhosTRydeR_92)
Can't give you a opinion on the alt. problem as that I'm out of my element. Someone a lot smarter maybe will jump in on it. I can say that a bad charging system that affects battery condition WILL affect drivability. IMHO maybe getting the alt. fixed and the battery up to snuff should be the first thing to take care of.
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (GhosTRydeR_92)
Could be, it needs to be replaced if it looks burnt. Replace it and see what happens. Get one with a warranty in case there is something causing the alternator to fail. :D
After that, we'll talk again if the problem persists. Low current can cause all sorts of weird problems.
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (kman0066)
im goin to pick me up a alt this friday that will be the earlist i can get one.
its wierd how an alt will cause a car to miss like that . ill also found out its not just the driver bank missing like that its both sides, and its not just one cylinder it alternates between cylinders. so my theory on this leads to the alt being the prob for the missing and all the codes its throwing. could be not enough voltage goin to the knock sensors causing a code there and the 02 sensors as well. also making it read a lean mixture b/c of not enough fuel being fed to the engine.. does this make since ?????
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (GhosTRydeR_92)
I dont know too much about opti spark but if it misses erraticallyits probably got something to do with fuel. if its a consistent miss at one or two cylinders its probably spark to the cylinder, the plug, wire, injector, lifters, valves, compression, to that cylinder. You get the idea. Im not sure why the alt. would make it miss. Was your voltmeter in your car between 13 and 14 volts. Check your volts when the car is running if you have a multimeter. I hope this helps.
Also make sure your battery wires to the junction block and to the ECM are clean and not corroded. Over time my B+ battery wire to the ECM rotted through with battery acid and the car just shut off. All kinds of codes started popping up. Fuel pump relay started clicking erratically. all for a coroded wire :banghead:
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (madmike)
ill check the wires out today to the ecm .. my voltage was reading between 10 -11 volts all my lights where flickering in the speedo and on the console . running the car for 10 mins would make it barely turn over on the next start up .. what is the b+ wires what color is it ??? thanks dax
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (GhosTRydeR_92)
Hi
had a similar "missing" problem on my 94 with an O2 sensor code.. removed spark plugs and all missing bank were sooty...changed O2 sensors ( all 3) and problem solved.
Hope it helps

Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (GhosTRydeR_92)
The B+ wire is the hot wire directly connected to the positive battery terminal at the battery. Its not the big wire going to the starter but the little wire paralleling the big fat wire. Everyone should check this wire for corrosion. It might look fine outside but inside it will be this dusty green color , eating through the copper. Especially if you have buildup around the terminals. :seeya
Re: UPDATE!! ON DRIVER SIDE BANK MISSING!! (madmike)
UPdate fellas............ i got my new alt its a rebuilt one from advance auto.160 bucks ,but i have a lifetime warrenty on it :yesnod: they tested it for me before i brung it home. so i install it,clear my codes and fire it up .. :banghead: its still missin!!!! so i make another trip back down to the parts store got 2 new knock sensors ,70 bucks ! i havent installed them yet but im doin so first thing tomorrow.. and if that dont work ill by 2 o2 sensors.. i actually got a code 64 for a lean exhaust on the right bank.. so if these sensors dont work ill have to check the fuel pressure.. i dont have a gauge yet or i would have already .damn gauge goin to cost me 35 bucks  any one have any suggestions ???
