Default CLUTCH ????

I AM PUTTING A NEW 383 IN THOUGHT THIS IS THE TIME TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH,115000 MILES ON STOCK ONE BUT IT SEEMS TO BE FINE. QUESTION BEING FACTORY REPLACEMENT OR SPEND EXTRA MONEY FOR THE CENTERFORCE DUAL FRICTION ??? :confused:

I have heard a lot of negative things about centerforce.... (don't shoot me) (-:

I went thru this a few weeks ago while swapping my 4+3 to a ZF6- I went with a GM LT4 clutch set....granted I am no where near the HP you have (I have an 84 Vette) but they seem to be very good clutches...

115K on a clutch? There's no way it has much left in it.

Clutches are cheap compared to the cost/time investment of installing them.

If a factory replacement is adequate, you can buy a OEM replacement Borg/Beck clutch set at Autozone with a lifetime warrantee. It also comes with a steel T/O bearing, not plastic. Not sure what it'll cost for your '90, but mine was to the tune of $189. And the clerk said I can replace it free for ANY reason... "if I burn it to pieces, if I get a hair up my butt, whatever." --her exact words. :lol:
