Is it just a waste of time to install 1.6 rollers on a stock LT1 without any other modifications? What other things should be changed with this swap, springs, push rods etc. Does it require any modification to the valve covers? Also what type of rockers would you recommend? I have been looking at the competition cams rocker arm kit which includes push rods and guide plates. I guess the 1.6 ratio is perfect for the stock cam and covers.
I do plan on having the heads ported one day, but I'm not to certain about a cam swap. Possibly down the road, but I can't be sure. I just dont want to put in something that wont fill the bill for a cam upgrade.

Re: Another LT1 1.6 roller rocker question..... (Kizmo)
No it is good for 10-15 RWHP to add just 1.6 roller rockers on a stock LT-1. This will most likly be the next mod I dive into. :yesnod: Yes you gotta grind the drip tabs in the valve covers to make them fit. No this isn't a big deal.
I am going with the Factory LT4 setup. Those are 1.6rr's and they are the easiest to install from what I hear. Also you have to replace the Valve springs with LT-4 valve springs. These are cheap.
There is a pure metric assload of stuff on this in the archives.

No I do not think you have to replace the push rods. I could be wrong. I got mine of the forum. http://www.superchevyperformance.com has em. They are a factory GM part. Do some serching there are a bunch of people who know alot more than me about this.

See I'm so far behind the times, I still have a standard assload. I'll check out the metric amount! :jester
No need to fret, I suspect a LOT of folks are in the same position. I did a little research and discovered that a metric assload is only slightly larger than a standard assload by a factor of 1.016. So when it comes to metric vs. standard assloads, we're all pretty much in the same ballpark. Close counts in horseshoes, hand grenades AND assloads.... ;)
