I now have the SR base, plenum and runners installed. The only problem is that the car runs like crap the idle varies from 700-1300 and upon acceleration it might get a little backfire every once in a while and the timing is correct along with the plug wires.
What else could it be I was thinking a vaccume leak or egr. How should it run without any computer tuning.
Even with the stock chip it should run almost normal, just a LOT faster in the upper rpms.. (Mine at least did).
Could be that when you put the intake back on, you did what a LOT of use Superram guys did the first time.l Put the distributor on a few teeth off, or 160degrees reversed. Sounds like a timingissue if you can not find a huge vacuum leak. (Which you can HEAR on the superram even at idle).
Check for vacuum leaks or a random hose you forgot to reattach. The stock program even in a SD car should be more than adequate to run properly at least.
I had a real problem with mine idling too when i first put it on, turns out the runner-intake manifold had a good sized leak, not sure about the backfiring? That almost sounds like the timing is off. I just used starting fluid from a can and found the leak instantly. Check that first. Put a vacuume gage on it.
I used the starting fluid trick for a long time. It ignited once. Lost both eyebrows. The good news is they grew in nicer than they were . :lolg: :lolg:
