I actually fixed it a while ago, just havnt posted until now. The problem was indeed the O2 sensor. The drivers side connector had filled up with oil and grime which resulted in a faulty connection.
I took the connector apart and cleaned all the terminals, engine runs fine now. Still has a shaky idle once in awhile but nothing terrible and its not dropping cylinders like it was before.
Just a heads up in case anyone has a problem like that.. :flag
BTW Before I found the bad connector, I rebuilt the Opti with one of those 'tune-up' kits..made absolutely no difference in the engine at any RPM. oh well
