Well if nobody has done it, Welcome to the forum :hurray:
I'd like to suggest you purchasing a Helms Service Manual set for your Vette. Book two has a section that can lead you through starting problems. It has a good electrical diagram that you can follow and check on your Vette.
The first thing I'd like to know is are you getting power to the starting system when you turn the key on, or is the "key on/start" circuit alive--the pink wires in the engine compartment-- with the key on?
The computer is to program the miles into it. I believe you have a hundred miles with it before it gets locked in. As to locating one, a GM dealership should have one. Call all the ones in your area, one of them had better have one. But, you can put it in and try it out as long as you keep it within that 100 miles.
