I was timing the engine today and noticed half a dozen coolant drops just to the right of the upper rad hose. The hose was bone-dry, no leaks around the clamp-nothing. Where could the coolant be coming from?
*I* have never done it. You could see if you can squeeze the crimp over tab and do any good. Othewise, I would take the rad to a shop and have them replace the gasket and recrimp.
If it has anything to do with the radiator you would be better off removing it any giving it over to a professional to fix. Or even consider a new radiator if budget allows...summer IS coming!
Sounds like your radiator is toast. You can check it with a pressure tester from most any part store or your local mechanic can do it in minutes. Good prices on radiators here: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...sort=3&rows=50
My 1984 with 160,000 miles on it has the origional radiator core. I have had a tank replaced, twice. I don't know if both times were the same side or not. IF you decide you need a new radiator, I can help you get a NEW, genuine, Modine radiator at a slightly lower price, than that link.
