This may be the wrong place to post, if so I apologize. I spoke with a local exhaust shop that specializes in custom work. He will install 40 series flowmasters for $180.00 + pipe work of $25.00. The tips (LT1 style) cost about $125.00 for the set. I think this is still a reasonable price however, here's my real question.
Does anyone with a C4 have pictures of exhaust tips on the car other than dual outlet or LT1 style tips. I would greatly appreciate anyone who can send me a picture.
Flowmaster 40 series will make your ears bleed!!! Resonance is terrible IMO!
Two options: If you want a good cat back system and are price conscious, go with Flowmaster Force II cat back. Way different than the 40 series. Good sound.performance. You can buy at Summit for around $460.00 or so.
If you want to go with the tail end only ( muffs ) go with Magnaflo. Stainless steel and tips are very nice!!! $320.00 for both muffs through Performance Peddler. Mention the Forum for discount.
If I had to pick, I'd go with Magnaflo's. I have them and love em'!!!
Dynomax Bullets with stainless tips welded on. That entire setup will cost you about $200. The Bullets are about $30 a piece. Then take your main cat, and a hammer or something, and whack everything out of the middle of it. That is what I did and it sounds VERY throaty and the resonation is not bad at all inside the car. I do not understand why people spend all this money on other systems when a poor kid like me finds a way to make it louder for minimal amounts of money :D Also, the Bullets are small, save you weight, and I did feel a slight performance gain.
People may not agree, IM me if you have questions.
There is tons of info in the forum search function about magnaflows. Here is a Vadered pic of them:
Larry's car looks great - It ALMOST made me buy the magnaflows, too... But, I just recently went with Corsa (as if everyone on this forum couldn't hear me jumping for joy). I also took the 40's off for resonance issues :yesnod:
Larry, that does look amazing!! One thing I like about these setups, when compared to some home made, or even old Flowmaster setups, is the tips don't stick out 6" from the back bumper.. that's horrible looking :yesnod:

Re: Exhaust Tips (Jbaker)
That would be a good example - was that a Vette you owned before this one?? Either way, I love your Magnaflows , they have a  look to them!!
Nah, this pic was truly Vadered. It came from vader86's profile.
I am sorry to the originator of this thread. I/we did not intend to hijack it. Forgive me please. If you are interested in the Magnaflows, please let me know here or email me at lbaird5@yahoo.com
